Advanced Math and Science Program (AMSP) ©
"Thousands of geniuses live and die undiscovered - either by themselves or by others."
(Mark Twain)
Advanced Math and Science Program (AMSP©), formerly known as MSOP is an advanced program provided by Accord Institute that motivates and encourages students for academic studies in grades 6-12. Early math and science training by experts ensures early specialization and solid scientist background for students.
AMSP© aims to train student towards prestigious math and science competitions in regional, national and international levels. AMSP©’s condensed training program helps students to develop their critical and analytical thinking skills while providing a challenging environment for them.
Facts: Math, Science Education and Gifted Students in the U.S.
In 2007, National Academies published a report that identifies the urgent need to increase the number of Science and Technology graduates within the next decade. Otherwise, there is a serious risk that the U.S. may soon and irrevocably lose its lead in science and technology. It is strongly recommended to vastly improve K-12 science and math education.
According to reports prepared by National Association for Gifted Children, there are approximately 3 million academically gifted children in grades K-12 in the U.S - approximately 6% of the student population. It is emphasized that gifted students are in need of services or activities not normally provided by the school. Besides, the federal government does not provide funding directly to districts specifically for gifted education. Reports highlight the missed opportunities to identify and serve gifted students in the U.S.
